Cannery Row by John Steinbeck
Interestiing and entertaining. This book evokes the twentieth century, 1920-1930 The Great Depression pre world war II atmosphere with the characters still enjoying life.I like the dynamics of the town, with Doc the doctor who is not a doctor, Mac and the boys who could be richl sucessful men but choose not to because of the fear that it would ruin them, Lee Chong the amiable chinese grocer, and Dora who runs a brothel. The story gets moving when Doc decides he needs 500 frogs and Mac and the boys decide to go get them. Disaster ensues. Pretty good story line and in the end the disasters are righted and friendships are strengthened.
I rate it a 10 out of 10. Although It wasnt a cover to cover read. I read it over a period of two weeks with other books in between mostly because i kept leaving the copy at grandmas etc.

To Kill a Mockingbird
To Kill A Mockingbird by harper Lee
This classic book has been assighned to generations of middleschoolers for summer reading. And as you know summer reading books are one of two things, bad or boring. Wich is why I was apprehensive about this book to start with. Seeing my fellow ninth graders scathing reviews of the book posted on facebook I was reluctant to read it and frankly put it off till yesterday. I myself ended up enjoying the book. It is a genuinely good book it has its funny parts, its sad parts, its climax an anticlimax.
My favorite part is when Boo Radley the recluse that hasnt been seen for years rescues scout and Jim from Bob Ewell. Or at lest takes them to the hospital.
I give it a 10 out of 10. Read the thing in a day, a little in the morning and the evening before bed.

The Exhiled Queen
By CInda WIlliams Chima
A good book and a worthy sequel to the original THe Demon King. The second book in the 7 realms series.
Its a good book with majic swords adventure and romance. A few plot twists throughout the book. I like the fact that the main character thinks he is bad because of his ancestor almost destroyed the world. And when he finds out who he is he thinks he is bad. Turns out his ancestor wasnt bad at all and a victom of circumstnace.

A collection of science fiction stories. Most of wich I found lacking. I did not even read all of this book. Tired of the drivel.

Circque de Freak
By Darren Shan
Wierd that the authors name is the name of the main character, like he is implying that the events of the book are nonfictional. I like the fact that Darren and his freind Steve go to the cirus and meet alot of cool yet freaky poeple and than Darren ends up becoming accidentaly a half vampinese. His friend Steve turns dark and ends up a vampire. There is a movie about this book.

Never SLow Dance With A Zombie
By Erich Van Lowe
I thought it was a good book. Good metaphor for high school students. Zombies. He he. I liked how the zombies were more current version with a viral infection rather than being created with black magic. And I like that they found a cure.
Thought the main character was at first a bit selfish at first she becomes a better person through the events that occur throughout the book.
I was quite suprised when a person who was a zombie who was actually a person who was faking the whole time to fit in with the zombies so they wouldnt eat her and she could still be a popular girl zombie. Nice twist.

A Million Little Pieces
James Frey
Its a rather interseting story of recovery. Horrible events put down using a dead pantone and not to many descriptive words. But Still pretty good, its the story of a man told he would die before the age of 24 if he didnt stop using drugs and drinking alchohol. He was 23 at the time. 6 weeks in rehab completely cured his various addictions. I like some of the characters like Leanard the former gangster and Matty the Boxer who tries not to cures but does anyway and often in a humorous way.

A Treasury of Deception
By Michael Faquahar
Non fiction, I have found out about alot of haoxes scams and deceptions through history. I was particularly entertained with the story of Chinese General Sun Bin, he used a very clever strategy to defeat an enemy. He made him think his army was retreating and lead his foe to slaughter.

The Grapes of Wrath
By: John Steinbeck
I find the plot dry and the conversation between characters unnecessarily lenghty and lackluster. Perhaps its beyond my years but I dont think so. I read this book in a few hours but found it to be BLAAHH. I am in the process of reading another one of Stienbecks novels, Canner ROw and find it interesting and lively. It has the same writting style but is much more aliove, you can picture the situation happening as you read it cmes to life, wich is what I found lacking in the grapes of wrath. Ive heard this is a very popular book and someone is probably not going to like that I think it sucks. I think from what Ive read so far it is backwards that Ive never heard of Canners Row but Ive heard of The Grapes of Wrath.

The Five Fakirs of Fiazabad
By PB Kerr
Book 6 of the series
I like the series. I liked how one of the five Fakirs, ancient indian holy men, ended up in England where I did not expect them to be. I only have one question after reading this book, why do they say 5 fakirs when there are 10? And when is the next one coming out

The Gathering Storm
The Gathering Storm
By Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson
Pleasantly suprised!!! I was afraid that Brandon Sanderson would not have the talent that Robert Jordan posessed when faced with the chalenge of finishing a series of someone elses books. I was wrong. Sanderson stayed true to the feel of the books and the transition between authors is seemless. Brilliant.
A series of page turners. You want to know what happens next and you just cant put it down and get to sleep. before you know it youve read the whole book.

The Towers of Midnight
The Towers of Midnight
By Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson
The series is very good with the right mix of drama action romance suspense and plot twists. All the things that make a novel and indeed a book series great. Its hard to describe becouse its book # 2 of 13 in the series and youd have to start with number one to understand any of it. The complexity of its multiple plots makes for a fun read. I like how it has riligous undertones with the dark one and the creator or the light, but its not judjmental. I like the magical one power that sertain people can use.
This is a very long book, 861 pages and I read it when it first came out in a couple days. Overall its a 10 out of 10. One of the greatest fantasy novels of our time. The whole series is really great.

this bookis part of a seies aboiut a magical world, connected with ours that has been roonbed of much of its magic by its evil emperor maldor, who is ithe only magic user left in the land.the mai nb characters,Jason and Rachel, fall into that magical place quite by acccident, and end up on a quest for a magic word that is supposedly the only way to destroy maldor.they meet many colorful characters and go to many cool places on their journey. i was particularly suprised when jason and rachel were betrayed by one of their friends.I liked this book a lot . i would 2reccomend it to a reader looking for adventure and suprise at every turn.

The Monstrumologist
The Monstrumologist
By Rick Yancey
I though it was a good book with alot of plot twists. Though its subject matte ris a bit dark for my taste it is humerous at moments. It is presented by the author as the journals of a mad man who claims to have been a hundred years old. Born in 1876.
I particularly like the part where Helenor Warthrop tells Will about a hereditary organism in his blood that supposedly gives him increased longevity of life.
